They Were Family by
Mason Kaye

This is history told from the often erased voices of our past, in particular, LGBTQIA+ people. This book delves into 12,000+ years of human history, shown in hundreds of little-known facts and found photographs, and laid out in a way meant to be digestible, entertaining, and completely sassy.

The photos are us.

All 100+ photos inside of They Were Family come from Mason’s personal photo collection and range from 1850-1955.

Mason has collected LGBTQIA+ images and items (newspapers, books, Gay Bob, etc.) for the better part of a decade with hopes of one day sharing it with the world.
